Benton County offers robust insurance packages designed to provide affordable coverage for each full time, and full time equivalent employee and their family.  Please click on any of the groups listed to below to see the Premium Summary sheet.  Also, at the bottom of this page is a listing of optional insurance coverages available to all employees.  Please contact the Benton County Personnel Department if you have any questions 509-737-2777.

                                   Retirement:
Benton County is a part of the Department of Retirement Systems.  Qualifying employees are enrolled in the applicable plans listed below.  Please visit the  Department of Retirement Systems for additional information .

LEOFF - Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters
PSERS - Public Safety Employees Retirement System
PERS - Public Employees Retirement System

Additional Retirement OPTION:
457 - ICMA - Participation in the ICMA 457 plan is optional and is completely employee funded.



                   Elective Employee Paid Insurances:
Aflac - Aflac provides supplemental insurance for individuals and groups to help pay benefits your major medical insurance doesn't cover.  Employees may purchase Aflac at their discretion.

The Standard Insurance Company:
Voluntary Term Life Insurance (VTL) - Each Full-Time and Full-Time Equivalent employee is covered under a basic life insurance plan.  Voluntary Term Life Insurance allows the employee to purchase additional term life insurance at group rates.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD) - Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Covers the employee in the event of an accident.  Losses covered include loss of hearing, loss of sight, paraplegia, etc.  Employees may purchase ADD coverage at group rates.
