About the Park Board

The Park Board is a group of interested volunteers that advise the staff and County Commissioners on matters of policy, programs, and projects in the County parks. The Park Board shapes the vision for individual parks and the park system as a whole, and sets development and budget priorities.

Benton County Parks
Benton County currently has ten parks. The diverse portfolio includes a shooting range, a campground, a miniature aircraft facility, a disc golf course, an equestrian area, boat launches, hiking trails, and even a pioneer cemetery.

Terms of Service
Park Board members are volunteer, unpaid positions appointed to six year terms unless the vacancy is an unexpired term. The current vacancy is unexpired, and the current term will expire June 30, 2019.

Board Meetings
Regular meetings are held in the evening of the second Tuesday of each month, usually in Kennewick. There are occasionally special meetings or site visits, maybe once or twice per year.

Qualifications
This position requires limited experience - an interest in parks and outdoor recreation, and a willingness to serve are all you need!
