The Building Department is located in the Kennewick Annex 5600 W. Canal Drive, Kennewick. Our hours of operation are from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is closed on Holidays and weekends. A Building Inspector will be in the Planning Department Annex at 1002 Dudley Avenue in Prosser on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

STEVE BROWN, Building Dept. Manager

Oversees the Building Department. Plans, organizes, and coordinates Building inspections activities. Enforces building, zoning, mechanical, fire and other codes and ordinances. Performs inspections of private and public construction projects.

KEN WILLIAMS, Fire Marshall    

Performs inspections of public, commercial and industrial buildings for compliance with applicable fire code requirements. Investigates fire code violations. Provides information and educations to businesses and the general public regarding the International Fire Code. Develops Fire Code policies.

DALE WILSON, Code Enforcement Officer

Inspects and reports on zoning and building violation complaints to assure compliance with applicable zoning codes and ordinances. Conducts follow up inspections.

ROD WORTHINGTON, Plans Examiner/Building Inspector

Examines construction drawings to verify compliance with building and local codes. Assists with inspections as required.

TROY TAYLOR, Building Inspector  

Reviews and inspects residential/commercial plans and specs for code compliance and county regulations. Assists in maintaining inspection requests. Assists the public with permit procedures. Performs inspections of private and public construction projects.

JENELLE SCHADLER, Permit Technician 

Assists the public in completing applications for building, manufactured homes placement and related permits issued by the department. Accepts and performs initial review of applications for completeness. Reviews the site plan for setbacks and access. Tracks all permits during processing and issuance.
